Grease, Mold Build-Up Noted in Suwanee Restaurant Inspections

Several Suwanee restaurants underwent routine health inspections recently by the Gwinnett Health Department. Here's a summary, as well as a link to the full report.

• SUWANEE SPORTS ACADEMY, 3640 Burnette Road: The popular facility, which caters to participant sports, received an "88/B" rating on April 23 for its restaurant area. Among the violations noted:

Grease/food buildup on multiple fry baskets, strainers that were stored clean. Food buildup inside both microwaves. Utensils, equipment cleaned at the time of inspection. Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils shall be clean to sight and touch.  Corrected On-Site.  Repeat Violation.

• SPICED RIGHT RIBHOUSE SUWANEE, 3131 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road: The restaurant received a "94/A" rating on April 23. Among the violations noted:

Grease/food buildup on the cookline equipment. Ice buildup in the chest freezer. Buildup on the dish shelves & in the upright freezer. Nonfood-contact surfaces of equipment shall be cleaned at a frequency necessary to preclude accumulation of soil residues.  Repeat Violation.

• ROYAL BAMBOO CHINA BISTRO, 2133 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. The restaurant received a "92/A" rating on April 23. Among the violations noted:

Mold-like buildup in the ice machine. "Clean" utensils stored in an unclean container. Ice machine, utensils & container were cleaned at the time of inspection. Equipment food-contact surfaces and utensils shall be clean to sight and touch.  Corrected On-Site.  New Violation.
