Parsons Gifts & Cards Reopens in Suwanee

Parsons Gifts & Cards opened in its new location in the Suwanee Jubilee Shopping Center between Duluth and Suwanee recently. The new store site at 1500 Peachtree Industrial Blvd.

The once-popular Duluth business, owned by Carey and Patsy Odum, was required to move quickly from 2780 Buford Hwy. Their landlord sold the building in the Duluth Station Shopping Center, where the store leased 5,000 square feet of retail space, to a Korean Presbyterian church from Norcross. The church plans to renovate the entire building and relocate to Duluth by October. Parsons Gifts & Cards had 90 days to find a new location with an Aug. 1 moving deadline.

The Odums built the building in the Duluth shopping center 15 years ago, but sold it about eight years afterwards along with the Parsons Hardware and Garden Center, which later closed. The current owner sold the building to the church.

“We really had to scramble,” Patsey Odum said. “We found the best and closest place to our existing market.” The new leased space is comparable in size, containing about 4,000 square feet.

Parsons Gifts & Cards serves customers from Suwanee, Johns Creek, Duluth, Buford, and Lawrenceville.

The new store plans to continue to be open seven days a week.

Parsons Gifts & Cards offers a large selection of gifts including Brighton, Vera Bradley and Pandora merchandise lines.
