Powerball Lottery Now at $320 Million

Georgia is a participating state. Wednesday's drawing will be for the fourth-largest jackpot ever.

Yearning to unleash your inner Warren Buffett? Want a vacation home or a fleet of new vehicles?

Well, there may never be a better chance than Wednesday (Aug. 15). The Powerball, the lottery that is played in Georgia and more than 40 other states, has a $320 million jackpot for the next drawing.

According to the Powerball website, the jackpot (won by matching all five white balls in any order and the red Powerball) is either an annuitized prize paid out over 29 years (30 payments) or a lump sum payment. Each ticket costs $2. If the winner chooses the annuity, the annual payment will be increased each year by the percentage set out in the Powerball rules.

-- Do you play Powerball? Are you going in for the big jackpot? Tell us in the comments below.

The second prize (won by matching five white balls in any order) is a cool $1,000,000, paid in cash. And any time you match the red Powerball, you win.

And about those horror stories of impossible odds -- the overall odds of winning a prize in the game are approximately 1 in 32, the website says.

So, are you in?

I will win the lottery soon enough. I am not sure for lump sum, or annual payouts. Either way it is going to be a great ride! Thanks Powerball!
