A Taste of Spring in Suwanee

Beer Fest and Plein Air arts events kick the season into high gear.

Balloons were popping up all over Suwanee on Saturday. So were beer tasters.

And so it was on the first full weekend of Suwanee spring events in 2012. The American Craft Beer Fest was back for a second year in Town Center Park, and the Plein Air -- outdoor painting -- event was back for another spring run. The participating artists identified themselves by tying balloons to their stations while painting at various locations around town.

"I'm scared to death," said Ann Tiberghien of Berkeley Lake, who was participating in her first Plein Air event. This event continues Sunday, with winners announced at a reception in the evening at a Town Center Park restaurant.
