Vacant Suwanee Storefronts: Change In the 'Cards'

Two more vacancies in a Suwanee strip mall will have a new occupant. What do you think?

It's a fact of life in business: Sometimes stores large and small relocate, or cease operations.

It has happened recently in a prominent Suwanee strip mall, which houses a Publix on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard at McGinnis Ferry Road.

Jacquelyn Brewer ." Yet now all that remains of the consignment store is a note on the front door.

"Today (2/22/12) was our last day open," the note read. "Thank you so much for everyone's support over the last four years ... Thank you for coming together to help others when asked. I will miss each of you." The note directed inquiries to info@onceagainkids.com.

A nearby suite once was the site of Wallace Reed Music, a staple on the Suwanee scene for years. But it has been vacant for quite some time. Reed's whereabouts are unknown, though an employee at nearby Town Center Music (formerly Braswell's Music) said he had heard that Reed was now in the Marietta area.

But changing business fortunes can be a boon to someone else.

Hallmark, the greeting-card giant, plans to occupy these spaces, Brewer told Suwanee Patch in an email Friday.
