City Considering Proposal to Require Head of Household to Own Firearm - Woodstock Patch

A proposal considered by Cherokee County's northernmost city to require its residents to own a firearm will most likely not gather much steam across the county.

The city of Nelson, which has a population of around 1,300 people and sits on the Cherokee-Pickens County line north of Ball Ground, is considering an ordinance to mandate the head of each household in the city to own a firearm.

Suspect Sought in Reddy Supermarket Robbery and Car Theft - East Atlanta Patch

The Atlanta Police Department is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the lead suspect in a Monday evening robbery at an Atlanta Reddy Supermarket.

According to the APD's Facebook page, the suspect is wanted for armed robbery and is responsible for the robbery at the convenience store.  The victim told police he was robbed in his store and that his vehicle was also stolen.

Machete-Wielding Landlord Allegedly Threatens to Cut up Tenant - Buford Patch

A Flowery Branch man is facing numerous charges stemming from a Feb. 26 incident during which he reportedly entered a Buford home and threatened his tenant with a machete.

James Swansey, 80, of Flowery Branch, identified himself as the owner of the home and admitted he had been involved in an altercation with his tenants. According to the police report, Swansey said no one would answer his knock, so he used a hammer to break a lock on one of the doors. He reportedly also admitted entering the residence with a hammer and a machete.
