Improvements Are Complete at Key Suwanee Intersection

Raised pedestrian islands have been installed on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard.

Some orange cones still remain, but the planned improvements at a busy Suwanee intersection have been completed.

Raised pedestrian islands have been installed at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and McGinnis Ferry Road at all four corners. Now people crossing the busy intersection can feel a bit safer from oncoming traffic while waiting for the lights to change.

The project was co-funded by Gwinnett County and the City of Suwanee, which contributed $70,000 toward the cost. Gwinnett County used 2009 SPLOST funds for its share.

Also, work is scheduled to begin soon on a multi-use path along Suwanee Dam Road from Peachtree Industrial Boulevard to Main Street, near Town Center.
