5. Today in History: On this date in 1969, "Broadway" Joe Namath led the New York Jets to a memorable 16-7 upset of the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III. The former Alabama Crimson Tide star had guaranteed that the Jets, from the upstart AFL, would win the game, which was played in Miami.
