Two Arrested in Marijuana Grow House Bust in Forsyth County – Cumming Patch

Authorities have busted a marijuana grow house located off Buford Dam Road in Forsyth County.

"We found in the basement of the home, 32 marijuana plants between 5 feet and 7 feet high, said Sheriff Duane Piper. "We also discovered an unknown amount of marijuana buds that were drying and multiple pieces of equipment, such as lights and a filtering system that are used in an indoor grow house."

 - Johns Creek Patch

The causes of death in the apparent murder-suicide that claimed the lives of a family of four in a Johns Creek apartment complex were hanging, injury by sharp objects and blunt force trauma, said Police Chief Ed Densmore on Tuesday.

The two children, Sartaj and Gurtej Grover, suffered injury by sharp objects; their mother, Damanjit Kaur Grover, suffered blunt force trauma, and the father, Shivinder Singh Grover, died by hanging.

Would-Be Thieves Smash Stolen Vehicle Through Restaurant - Midtown Patch

Less than a month after a Midtown package store was victimized when thieves utilized a vehicle to conduct a destructive smash-and-grab, a westside restaurant suffered a similar fate on Tuesday morning.

Around 6:45 a.m., Atlanta police responded to a call at the West Midtown Corner Tavern after would-be thieves smashed a stolen dark sedan through the front door of the eatery located at 1133 Huff Road.

Sign Flipper Appears on 'Ellen' After Video Goes Viral - Cartersville Patch

The man who was at odds with the city of Cartersville over his sign flipping business for some time has gained national, and even international, attention for his tossing and twirling abilities.

Falkenstein's sign flipping shows in Cartersville apparently ended sometime in 2011, but have proved a big hit with a viral YouTube video that's had more than 5 million views. He appeared on 'Ellen' to talk about it, laughingly blaming "ADHD" for his inability to simply hold a sign.

- Barrow Patch

On Feb. 2, 2013, a deputy with the Barrow County Sheriff's Office responded to the area of Tanners Bridge Road and Tanners Bridge Circle in reference to an accident with injuries.  Upon arrival, the deputy found an SUV against a tree, the driver, having exited the vehicle, was walking around. 

"I asked him how much he had to drink and he stated that he only had a couple of drinks at a friends. He informed me that he was ok to drive," the deputy wrote in an incident report. "I looked at his car and informed him that I don’t think so and pointed towards the vehicle against the tree all smashed up."

Father Delivers Baby at Shell Gas Station with Help of E911 – Douglasville Patch

Brynlee Josephine Favia was welcomed into the world on Friday morning, Feb. 1, at 6:05 a.m. and delivered in the parking lot of the Shell gas station on Post Road in Douglasville by her father, Brandon.

Brandon started the delivery with the assistance and direction over the phone with Douglas County E911 Operator Amanda Weathers while E911 Operators Becky Radford and Daisy Millsap dispatched the call.
