5. Today in History: On this date in 1984, Boston College quarterback Doug Flutie threw a "Hail Mary" pass to teammate Gerard Phelan covering 64 yards to beat Miami, 47-45. The incredible game featured more than 1,200 yards of total offense. Flutie went on to win the Heisman Trophy that year and the pass made him the first player in college football history to pass for more than 10,000 yards in his career. (Source: history.com)
