5. Today in History: In the wee hours of the morning of Oct. 26, 1986, the Boston Red Sox and the New York Mets were tied in the 10th inning of Game 6 of the World Series. With two outs, Mets batter Mookie Wilson hit a routine ground ball toward Boston first baseman Bill Buckner, who let the ball roll between his legs and into the outfield. The winning run scored, and the Red Sox also went on to lose Game 7 of that series. And Buckner became a part of baseball lore.Β "I can’t remember the last time I missed a ball like that," he said, "but I’ll remember this one." (Source: history.com)
