Peachtree Ridge Lions Get Defensive In Win Over Parkview

Two interceptions returns for TDs lift the Lions past the Panthers.

Peachtree Ridge used two fourth-quarter interception returns for touchdowns to turn a close contest into a 28-14 win over visiting Parkview Friday.

Nick Glass and Travis Bowers both scored on interception returns for the Lions, who are now 2-0. Glass also recovered a Parkview fumble that led to a Peachtree Ridge touchdown on the next play, a 35-yard run up the middle by Jordan Ellis.

Ellis also scored on a 6-yarder after Parkview had taken a 7-0 led on Justis Rosser's 9-yard run midway through the first quarter.

The win was Peachtree Ridge's second win in a row over a team that had reach the playoffs last year. The Lions beat Walton in the Corky Kell Classic on Aug. 24.

It was the season opener for Parkview, which beat Peachtree Ridge 3-0 last year.
