Ready for Next Year for Preschool?

Preschool registration for the 2012-2013 school year has already begun.

Yes, it is only February. The Christmas decorations have just been put away and the New Year just rung in, and now parents are already having to think about the fall.

Preschools in Suwanee and the surrounding area have already started enrolling. If you know what school you prefer, enroll as soon as possible. If you do not know, now is a perfect time to schedule tours and to get more information so you can make your decision.

Here are some local preschool programs that are already enrolling for fall.Β

Church programs

Many area churches offer part time preschools. These programs typically run for 4 hours and can be a full week or just a few days.

Shadowbrook Baptist Church offers programs for 15 months thru kindergarten. Registration is now open to the public.

has open registration now. They offer part-time and full-time programs. They accept infants thru second grade.

Suwanee United Methodist preschool offers classes for little ones ages 2 thru 4. All information about the preschool can be found at suwaneepreschool.com.

is in Lawrenceville, just outside Suwanee. Enrollment for new students begins Feb. 13.

Pre-K programs

For those with children who are 4 by Sept. 1, 2012, public pre-k programs are offered at several area daycares.

in Suwanee is adding students to their waiting list. The program is first filled with students currently enrolled at Discovery Point. Remaining spots are filled by lottery in March.

on Smithtown Road is currently accepting applications for the Georgia pre-K program. A lottery will be drawn in April to fill available spots.

is accepting pre-K applications for the waiting list. After filling available spots with those currently enrolled at the academy, remaining spots will be filled in order of those on the waiting list.

is now enrolling for a preschool program that they call "Play to Learn." The program accepts 3- and 4-year olds. Contact ktriaga@ssasports.com for more information.
