Suwanee SWAT Hostage House Is For Sale

The residence has been renovated since the April incident involving Gwinnett Police and firefighers.

Two months after it was the scene of a fatal standoff involving its resident and Gwinnett Police SWAT officers, a Suwanee house is for sale.

The single family house at 2440 Walnut Grove Way in unincorporated Suwanee is listed for sale at $164,900, according to Zillow.com. The listing became active earlier in June.

Renovation of the four-bedroom house is evident from listing photos. Part of the exterior was damaged in the April hostage standoff, during which resident Lauren Brown held several Gwinnett firefighters hostage before he was shot to death by a Gwinnett SWAT officer.

Brown, who was called "delusional" by one of his captives, made a 911 call to Gwinnett Fire, feigning chest pains. Shortly after the firefighters arrived, he held them hostage at gunpoint and confessed that he had planned the incident for weeks. Gwinnett SWAT officers stormed the house after they concluded that it was the only way to get the hostages out alive.

The house had been taken back in foreclosure in December, records show.

The listing description reads

RANCH IN MOVE IN CONDITION WITH FRESH PAINT, NEW CARPET AND VINYL, VAULTED GREAT ROOM WITH FIREPLACE, SPLIT BEDROOM FLOOR PLAN WITH THREE ADDITIONAL LARGE BEDROOMS AND MASTER, NEW STOVE AND MICROWAVE, FORMAL DINING ROOM.
