3rd Annual Howl-o-Weim

The Atlanta Weimaraner Club Rescue ("AWCR") is hosting its third annual Howl-O-Weim FUNdraiser event, including a silent auction, obedience and trick demonstrations, BBQ lunch, a pet photographer, and costume contests. The costume categories are BEST BIG DOG, BEST LITTLE DOG (under 35 lbs), BEST DOG/OWNER, BEST CELEBRITY LOOK ALIKE, and SCARIEST. All breeds welcome! Or, come without a dog, too!

The cost to register is $20 per person (includes 1 person, BBQ lunch, 1 dog entry) or $50 family pack (includes 2 adults, 2 kids under 12 and 2 dog entries). Additional dog entries are $5.00. We are excited to announce that Randy Travis from Fox 5 News Atlanta and Jeff Hahn, owner of Camp Bow Wow, Duluth will be two of the judges... THE EVENT IS BEING SPONSORED BY CAMP BOW WOW, DULUTH.

Some of the items in the silent auction include a framed Giglio print, a William Wegeman print, a private tour of the Anheuser-Busch brewery in Cartersville, horseback riding lessons, jewelry, The Mod Dog pet collars, gift cards to many dog food/supply locations, a vet clinic boarding/spa/dog treat basket, wine baskets, dog grooming/spa baskets, a gift certificate facial treatments from a surgeon in Calhoun, a custom photo album, thundershirt dog jackets, and gourmet dog cookies. And, there's more!

Also, Georgia Jail House Dogs will be setting up a booth at the event. This group is bringing the Jail House program to multiple counties in our area. It has been successful in Gwinnett for three years. They take Shelter / Rescue dogs and pair them with inmates in the county jails. The inmate takes the dog through a training course and the dog graduates with a Good Citizen Certificate and all graduates to date have been adopted. The inmates work with professional trainers and build self-esteem, skill sets, confidence and encouragement. It's a win-win, and a terrific non-profit program.
