PIKE NURSERIES TO HOST BLUEBERRY BONANZA WEEKEND MAY 3-4

Nothing says the start of summer like plump, freshly-picked blueberries! To celebrate this scrumptious super fruit, the garden experts at Pike Nurseries are hosting a Blueberry Bonanza Weekend on Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4. The first 100 customers at each store location on Saturday will receive their very own ‘Tophat’ Blueberry Plant – perfect for growing in the garden, in a pot on the patio or indoors by a sunny window.

Blueberry shrubs not only provide delicious, bite-sized berries that pack a nutritious punch, but they also add year-round interest to the landscape. The plant produces white, bell-shaped flowers in the spring; succulent and healthful berries in the summer; knockout colorful foliage in the fall; and graceful golden stems in the winter. Families can learn about the many blueberry plant varieties, the antioxidant-rich health benefits of their fruit and how to grow the most bountiful harvest during a FREE Growing Blueberries Class on Saturday, May 3 at 9 a.m. or Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m. at all Pike Nurseries locations. Whether guests plan to incorporate their home-grown blueberries into everyday recipes or just eat them fresh out of the bucket, Pike Nurseries has the expert advice to ensure this delicious fruit is planted to perfection.
