Homecoming with Dinner after the Worship Service

11:00 am – 2:00 pm

In March of 1972 six families gathered in a local Lilburn home with the idea of establishing a Christian Church congregation in the Lilburn area.  Once they grew too large for the home, they sought a larger meeting room.  On July 30, 1972 they met in the Berkmar High School Band Room, officially for the first time as Lilburn Christian Church (LCC).  In 1977 Lilburn Christian Church moved into its first building, now the Chapel and Youth building on the almost 7 acre campus at 314 Arcado Road.

Since that day in 1972 LCC has had over 3000 members worshiping and serving in the Lilburn area.  LCC’s outreach program has helped establish 4 other congregations in the Gwinnett County area, sent many young people into the ministry and mission field, has been an important meeting place for the Lilburn community with graduations and concerts, and has helped provide food to Lilburn Co-op and Thanksgiving meals to those in need.

On the weekend of Sept. 15 & 16, LCC will be having its annual Homecoming, but this year it will also celebrate its 40 years in worship and service in the Lilburn community.  On Saturday evening, Sept 15th, there will be a gospel sing in the Chapel building with Dwayne Wylds, our Worship Leader and Choir Director, followed by an Old Fashioned Ice Cream social, with a contest for the best homemade ice cream. Sunday morning, Sept 16th, the morning service Minister Clark Cregger, still an active member at LCC and Tony Dyer our current Minister, since 2009.  There will be a pot luck dinner in the Family Life Center immediately following the morning service.  All founding and former members will be our honored guests.
