How Safe is Suwanee? One List Says 7th Safest in Georgia

Real estate website Movoto.com ranked the cities based on 2012 FBI statistics.

Suwanee, Ga., is a pretty safe place to live.

But you already knew that. It's one of the reasons you live here.

The people at Movoto, the real estate brokerage website that frequently produces such lists, agrees.

In its Top 10 list of Safest Places in Georgia, Suwanee was listed No. 7. Johns Creek in north Fulton County is No. 1.

To compile the list, Movoto looked at 2012 FBI crime stats for places with populations over 10,000.

This is what Movoto had to say about Suwanee:

β€œResidents of Suwanee will be happy to know that they had only a 1 in 44 chance of being the victim of a crime.

Besides the no murders reported in 2012, there were 25 rapes per 100,000, 44 robberies per 100,000, and 69 assaults per 100,000, for the 12th lowest violent crime overall.

With only 1,629 thefts and 82 vehicle thefts per 100,000 people, this place had the 10th lowest property crime on our list, and 10th lowest overall crime in our rankings.”
