A couple was married via proxy last December using Skype while the bride was in New Jersey and the groom was stationed in Kabul, Afghanistan On Nov. 10, they celebrated their union in grand style through a $40,000 wedding that was awarded to them through Operation: Tie the Knot, a wedding contest with a grand prize of a full wedding celebration for a military couple. Read the full story on Woodbridge Patch.

[VIDEO] 101-Year-Old Nursing Home Resident Meets Family She Made Baby Blanket For

Edrie Aus, a resident of Carlsbad by the Sea retirement home in California, met the parents and baby for which she knit a blanket. It was the group's first time meeting after Aus donated the blanket to Tri-City Medical Center and nurses selected a family to which to give the blanket. Mother Molly Hudson and her husband were thankful for the gift for their son Jordan who was born on Oct. 25 and rushed to the NICU for trouble breathing. Read the full story on Carlsbad Patch.
