Christmas Tree Recycling Is Under Way

There are locations in Suwanee and Gwinnett where people can drop off their trees.

Your Christmas tree may still be up and decorated, but the time will come to take it down.

And the City of Suwanee and Gwinnett Clean and Beautiful have a program ready, according to the city website.

The annual Bring One For The Chipper recycling event began Thursday (Dec. 26) and continues until Jan. 18 at various locations throughout the county. Trees will be chipped into mulch and used at various city parks.

Trees will not be collected at curbside, unless you have a yard waste contract with your hauler, according to the Gwinnett County announcement.  Fire stations will accept trees 24 hours a day. Only live trees will be accepted, and people must remove all decorations, lights and tree stands.

Here is a complete location of drop-off points for tree recycling.

Also in Suwanee, trees can be dropped off at Sims Lake Park, 4600 Suwanee Dam Road.
