Will Weather Affect Weekend Events in Suwanee?

What do forecasts say?

Weather -- even the threat of inclement weather -- already has disrupted Christmas events in Suwanee and Gwinnett in 2013.

With more activities set for this weekend, it could happen again.

According to weather.gov, there is a 100 percent chance of rain Saturday in Suwanee (30024 ZIP). Also, gusts of wind to 25 miles per hour are possible.

This would not bode well for Christmas In The Park, scheduled for a Friday-Saturday run in Town Center Park. Hours are 5:30-8:30 p.m.

However, Sunday forecasts are for mostly sunny weather, and clear in the evening. This would allow the rescheduled Old Town Caboose Lighting and Christmas festival to proceed at 5 p.m. It already has been delayed by forecasts of bad weather.

Also, the City of Duluth has cancelled its Winter Fest, which had been scheduled for Saturday, due to weather forecasts.
