'Tomatoes 101' at Suwanee Garden

A class and plant sale will be held Saturday at White Street Park.

Suwanee's popular community garden will host more activity Saturday. A free "Tomatoes 101" class will be held Saturday at White Street Park, and people also can purchase starter plants.

Julie Chahboune, education chairperson for Harvest Farm, will present the free class at 9 a.m. The class will focus on growing, fertilizing, and harvesting beautiful tomatoes, according to a City Of Suwanee news release.

In addition, as a fundraiser for the garden, starter plants, grown by Harvest Farm master gardeners, will be available for purchase. Plant selections include herbs, heirloom tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and squash.

“You don’t have to be a Harvest Farm gardener to come out and get helpful gardening tips and some great plants,” Harvest Farm Communications Chairperson Cris Koenigs said in the news release. “So come out and be inspired to start your own garden or vegetable container on your patio.”
