What 5K Runners Can Learn from Usain Bolt

Let the fastest man in the world help you improve your running style.

OK, so you weren't sprinting in London against Usain Bolt, the fastest man in the world. But if you're in the Button Down Dash and/or the SOMA Old Peachtree 5K on August 25 to benefit Rainbow Village, you can learn a few things from Bolt to improve your stride and your time.

Here's a YouTube clip where Bolt is not breaking any records but running at an easy pace. Now how 

• his foot stays very close, landing under his hips - no overstride

• he maintains a straight posture with little bounce - no vertical displacement.

Even though his speed and stride are reduced, he still picks up his feet instead of letting his swing leg and hip flexors do all the work.
