Independent Film Series Returns to Suwanee

Fans of independent films will be able to get another "taste" of their delight on Monday (Oct. 15), when a Southern independent film circuit holds another screening at the Movie Tavern.

"A Matter of Taste: Serving Up Paul Liebrandt" will be shown at 7 p.m. at the facility on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, according to a city news release. Tickets are $6.

According to the release, The film offers an in-depth look inside the world of a talented and driven young chef known for his unique and ultra-modern dishes such as eel, violets, and chocolate; espuma of calf brains and foie gras; and beer and truffle soup. "A Matter of Taste" follows Paul Liebrandt over a decade, showing his creative process and the hard work, long hours, and dedication necessary to be a culinary artist and achieve success in the tough world of haute cuisine in New York City.

"Taste" Also marks the directoral debut of Sally Rowe. The film has been nominated for a 2012 Emmy (Outstanding Art and Culture Programming).

This is the second in the independent film screenings that will be shown in Suwanee. Four more will be shown through April.

The Movie Tavern is located at 2855 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, in the Horizon Village shopping center south of I-85.
