Super Bowl News: Ravens Star Lewis Denies Using Banned Substance; Free Tickets for Scam Victims

Checking online reports leading up to Sunday's game between Baltimore and San Francisco.

The Super Bowl will be televised Sunday, February 3, at 6:30 p.m. on CBS.

With the Super Bowl just four days away, there's already plenty of news about both the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers.

And controversy already has developed, as a published report says that star Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis may have used a banned substance to help him heal from an injury that he suffered in October.

According to reports, a story in SI.com suggested that Lewis' return may have been aided by a banned substance -- IGF-1, a substance found in deer antlers that reportedly stimulates muscle growth.

The report says that shortly after suffering the injury, Lewis placed a call to the co-owner of a company called S.W.A.T.S., "Sports With Alternatives to Steroids." Its website claims to "provide athletes with healthy alternatives to sports performance enhancers."

Lewis denied the report Tuesday at Super Bowl media day in New Orleans.

In another development, a California couple who lost $5,900 in a Super Bowl ticket scam on Craigslist will get some free tickets to the big game.

The Silicon Valley Mercury News reported that Ticketmaster CEO Nathan Hubbard called Bay Area resident Sharon Osgood to offer four free tickets for her, her boyfriend and other family members who got scammed. Hubbard also arranged for Osgood and her partner to have breakfast with NFL legend and Fox sportscaster Troy Aikman.
