Thousands Already Have Voted Early in Gwinnett

A satellite location will open in Suwanee on October 29.

Election Day itself, November 6, is less than two weeks away. But already, thousands of Gwinnett residents have cast ballots via early voting.

According to Lynn Ledford, Gwinnett elections director, some 20,000 of the 462,000 registered voters have cast their votes either in person or by mail.

Also, 12,058 have voted in person, and 7,749 by mail, according to Ledford.

"We're seeing about 1,600 people per day," said Ledford, who added that there is usually about a 45 minute wait to vote.

Early voting can be done at the county elections office, 455 Grayson Highway, Suite 200, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, voting hours are 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily.

Also, from October 29 to November 2, a satellite voting office will be open at George Pierce Park in Suwanee.
