DeKalb Officer Jailed in Gwinnett on Drug Conspiracy Charges

The Gwinnett District Attorney's Office was involved in the arrest.

A DeKalb County police officer and Gwinnett resident was jailed Friday (Sept. 6) in Gwinnett on drug conspiracy charges, in a case that may have an effect throughout the metro area.

According to media reports, William Alejandro Miguel is charged with conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine, and he was taken into custody Friday by DEA agents and Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office investigators, DeKalb Police Chief Cedric Alexander said.

Gwinnett Detention Center records show that Miguel has a Cove Crossing Drive address in Lawrenceville.

Miguel was relaying vital police information to the head of a drug organization regarding arrests made in DeKalb County, among other things, Gwinnett County District Attorney Danny Porter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

“We suspect the involvement (Miguel) has had has been pretty much metrowide,” DeKalb chief Alexander said.
