DUI Suspect From Suwanee Blamed for Gwinnett Power Outage

The 33-year-old man is facing numerous charges in connection with the June 1 incident. According to police, the man claimed to have only had "two beers."

A suspected drunk driver is being blamed for an accident that caused a power outage in several Dacula neighborhoods in the early morning hours of June 1.

When Gwinnett County Police arrived at the scene of a single car accident near the intersection of Highway 324 (Auburn Road) and Fort Daniel Park Drive, bystanders informed officers that the driver, later identified as Michael P. Walker, 33, of Suwanee, had fled into the wood line.

Walker's vehicle, a silver Toyota 4-Runner, was upside down in a ditch.
