Former Atlanta Braves Star Jailed in Gwinnett

Andruw Jones was charged with battery after an early morning incident in Duluth.

Former Atlanta Braves outfielder Andruw Jones was jailed in Gwinnett County early Christmas Day on a charge of battery after an incident in Duluth, according to police.

According to Gwinnett Police records, officers responded about 1:25 a.m. December 25 to a Grey Moss Pass address, in regards to a domestic dispute between husband and wife. Officers then developed probable cause to arrest Jones.

He was released on $2,400 bond at 11 a.m. Tuesday, records show. No other details of the incident are available.

Jones, 35, played for the Braves from 1996-2007. He has played for four different teams since leaving Atlanta, and has a career total of 435 home runs. According to Internet reports, Jones has a contract to play in Japan next season.
