Chris Bolden, a former North Gwinnett High and current Georgia Tech basketball team member, was arrested on a DUI charge early Saturday (Aug. 3), according to Gwinnett Police.

Bolden, 20, was booked into the Gwinnett Detention Center at 6 a.m. Saturday, records show. The arrest came after Bolden's car was detected going 90 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone on I-85 North, according to Gwinnett Police records. The arrest happened in the Pleasant Hill Road area.

Bolden also faces charges of speeding, improper lane change and alcohol possession by a minor. The legal age for alcohol purchase or possession in Georgia is 21.

According to the incident report, Bolden's vehicle was first observed in the left-most lane, then moved to all the way to the right but still "at a high rate of speed."

Bolden's vehicle later made another "quick lane change through a small gap" while the officer was behind the vehicle.

When the officer made a traffic stop and spoke with Bolden, the officer "observed manifestations" that Bolden was under the influence of alcohol, the police report said. After Bolden was handcuffed and transported to Gwinnett Police Central Precinct, tests showed his blood-alcohol level at 0.125 and 0.123. The legal limit is 0.08.

Bolden averaged 7.3 points per game in 31 games for the Yellow Jackets this past season.
