UPDATE: Missing Gwinnett Woman Reportedly Found Safe

Asian woman, 72, was last seen Monday at park in Lawrenceville. Suwanee Police are assisting.

UPDATE: 11Alive News in Atlanta is reporting Tuesday afternoon that the 72-year-old woman who went missing Jan. 2 from a Lawrenceville park has been found safe. According to a television news report, she was located in her own yard and is currently at home. She will be evaluated.

The search resumed at 7 a.m. Tuesday. Gwinnett County Police Department reported that the search was being coordinated with the assistance of code enforcement officers, the Gwinnett Sheriff's Office, Suwanee PD, and the Georgia State Defense Force.

GCPD spokesman Cpl. Jake Smith said at this time they did not suspect foul play and were still treating it as a missing person's case. It has been reported that Chong Petersen suffers from dementia.

She was last seen at about 1:30 p.m. Jan. 2 wearing a brown parka and dark pants in the area of Rock Springs Park, Lawrenceville.
