Gwinnett Chamber VP Nick Masino has had his DUI arrest case moved to Gwinnett State Court in Lawrenceville, according to officials.
Masino, a former mayor of Suwanee, was arrested in August by Suwanee Police after his vehicle was spotted swerving on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. Suwanee Police were alerted by an off-duty Suwanee police officer who spotted Masino's vehicle swerving on I-85 as he exited, according to the arrest record.
Masino was jailed briefly after refusing to finish a field sobriety test.
A spokesperson for the Gwinnett County Solicitor's Office, which acts as a prosecutor in such cases, said no court date is set for Masino, and that there is no timetable for handling the case. The matter initally was in Suwanee Municipal Court, but was moved to the state court at the request of Masino's attorneys, Suwanee court officials said.
