Holiday Decoration Stolen from Subdivision Near Suwanee

It's the second time part of the decorations on the entrance sign to River Plantation have been stolen.

A Grinch has stolen part of the holiday decor on the entrance sign to River Plantation on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, near Suwanee. The sign is located one mile north of the PIB intersection with Sugarloaf Parkway in unincorporated Duluth.

Randy Bieniek, who is in charge of landscaping for the neighborhood, said the decoration apparently was stolen sometime Saturday (Dec. 15) night and discovered Sunday morning. The same item disappeared in 2010.

"Replacing it costs about $250 and the effort of volunteers," she said.

A report is being filed with Gwinnett County Police on Monday, Bieniek said. She asked that anyone who may have seen the thieves in action to call the Gwinnett PD at 770-513-5300.

The neighborhood would appreciate return of the decoration.
