Kile Glover Family Asks for Prayers

The son of superstar Usher's former wife remains in critical condition, according to a statement to CNN.

The family of Kile Glover, the youth who was injured in a collision Friday on Lake Lanier, has asked for prayers for the youth, according to CNN.com.

"We know God's in control, and are leaning on our faith in Him and His word at this most difficult time," Glover's family said in a statement to CNN on Tuesday.

The youth's mother is Tameka Foster Raymond, the ex-wife of entertainment superstar Usher. His father is Ryan Glover, a former executive with Turner Broadcasting and now an executive with Bounce TV, a network that caters to African-Americans. Bounce TV'sΒ founders include Martin Luther King III and former Atlanta mayor and U.N. Ambassador Andrew Young.

The Glover family has held vigil at the hospital since Friday. Usher visited Kile early Saturday, but has not returned, according to the CNN reports.

"We firmly believe in the power of prayer and ask that you all continue to pray and lift Kile up, as it's the best way we can all support him now," the family statement continued.

A 15 year old girl also was injured in the accident. Her condition has not been made public.

Jeffrey S. Hubbard, said to be a family friend, has been identified as the man who was driving a personal watercraft that ran into Glover and the girl Friday afternoon. The youths were in an inner tube being pulled by a pontoon boat. No charges have been filed in the case, and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

Usher, a Johns Creek resident, is reported to be very upset about the tragedy.

"Usher practically raised Kyle as his own. He's known him for seven years. It is so sad what happened," read a report in US magazine.
