Lightning Strikes Suwanee House

Monday's storm causes problems around Gwinnett.

Monday's storm resulted in activity to a house in Suwanee, as well as several other incidents around Gwinnett.

Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services responded to a lighting strike in the 200 block of Azalea Chase Point in Suwanee, fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said in a release. No injuries were reported. The source was found to be a lightning strike to a cable TV line in the basement.  There was no damage to the structure.

-- A shed was reported on fire in Buford because of a lightning strike in the 5900 block of Lake Lanier Heights Road. No injuries were reported. Heavy smoke was showing from a shed behind the house, firefighters said. The shed was gutted and damaged contents included tools, ATVs and other items. There was no damage to the main house.

-- A tree was reported down on a house in the 190 block of Lester Woods Court in Lawrenceville. Occupants were at home and took shelter at a neighbor's house. No injuries were reported. Fire crews secured utilities to the structure.
