NEWS NEARBY: Gwinnett Murder Suspect Is Arrested

After a nearly nine-month search, Gwinnett County Police have arrested a suspect in the 2012 murder of a man at a CVS in unincorporated Lawrenceville.

Jamad Wallace, 21 of Stone Mountain, was arrested Wednesday (January 23) in Dekalb County and taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center.

Wallace is charged with murder in connection with the death of Alex Delgado Ramos, 27 of Lawrenceville.

On March 4, 2012, officers responded to a shooting at the CVS at 1187 Grayson Highway at around 10pm. Ramos was found outside the drugstore with a gunshot to the left side of his head. He was taken to the hospital, where he died two days later.

According to a release from Cpl. Jake Smith, Wallace was also wanted for aggravated assault following a shooting in Stone Mountain on December 9, 2011.

Wallace is being held without bond.
