NEWS NEARBY: Waffle House CEO Sex Tapes; Midday Theft at Gwinnett Shopping Center ...

News from Patch sites in the area.

Sex tapes depicting Waffle House CEO Joe W. Rogers Jr. of Buckhead as nude and engaged in sexual acts were turned over to a Cobb County court on Tuesday, as ordered by a judge to prevent them from being leaked to the media, according to news reports.

The recordings were handed over by the attorneys representing Rogers' former house manager, who is suing him for sexual harrassment. The Marietta Daily Journal identified the woman assistant as Mye Brooke Brindle, 43, of Acworth. Brindle has accused Rogers of fondling her and forcing her to engage in sex acts while she was his employee from 2003 to 2012.

Rogers admits to having a consensual affair with his former housekeeper, but said he did not sexually harrass her. He has stated that the claims are attempts to extort millions of dollars from him.

Brazen Thieves Steal Equipment off Landscaping Truck

Two thieves escaped with approximately $1,000 worth of equipment during a Nov. 5 midday theft at the Hamilton Mill Village shopping center.

According to the Gwinnett County Police report, two employees of a landscaping company parked their truck and were having lunch at Subway when the incident took place. As the men were walking back to their truck, a woman approached them and advised that she had seen two males in a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee park beside the landscaping truck. As the woman watched, the two males jumped out of the Jeep, ran to the landscaping truck and grabbed some items. The woman said the two men threw the items in the Jeep and then sped out of the parking lot.

Upon checking the truck, the landscaping employees confirmed two leaf blowers with a combined value of $1,100 were missing.
