News Report: Suwanee Police Warn of Phone Scam

Suwanee police are cautioning residents to be wary of a person calling residents, posing as an officer and then trying to collect fines.

According to a report on AccessNorthGa.com, Suwanee Police Capt. Cass Money said the scam is similar to others happening in metro Atlanta.

Two such cases are being investigated in Suwanee, the report stated. In the phone call, a man threatens arrest if resident do not ante up right then and there.

This isn't police protocol, so if anyone gets such a call -- or thinks they have been the victim of such a crime -- contact Suwanee police.
