Lanier Divers To Resume Search Monday for Missing Teen

More high-tech help was expected as divers prepared Monday to resume the search for missing Griffin Prince at Lake Lanier.

WSB-TV.com reported that the FBI will bring in new equipment Monday that will allow divers to stay under water for more than six minutes at a time in an effort to complete their search.

Previously, an underwater remote device was shipped in from California to aid in the search.

Prince, 13, of Buford has been missing since last week's boating collision, which also took the life of his brother Jake, 9. Paul J. Bennett has been charged with boating under the influence in connection with the crash. Bennett was piloting a boat that collided with a pontoon boat piloted by the Princes boys' father, Michael Prince Jr.

WSB also reported that a "specific area" will be searched by divers where sonar equipment detected a potential target over the weekend.

Over the weekend, rangers aimed to enforce safety as part of a national crackdown on drunken boating called Operation Dry Water.

According to AJC.com, the initiative ended with seven boating under the influence arrests.
