Suwanee Citizens Police Academy Begins October 2

The eight-week event emphasizes citizen involvement.

Suwanee Police again will be offering their popular Citizens Police Academy soon, emphasizing its commitment to citizen involvement.

According to a city news release, the eight-week event will begin Tuesday, October 2. Registration ends on Friday, Sept. 21.

Classes for the fall session will be on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Suwanee Police new training facility, 2966 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road, near I-85. (One class will be held on Monday, Oct. 8.)

The program is open to Suwanee residents and people who work in Suwanee. It is designed to offer a better understanding of day-to-day functions, risks, and experiences of Suwanee police officers. Topics addressed will include crime-scene processing, traffic stops, building searches, crime prevention, and narcotics identification.
