Suwanee Man Facing Battery Charges; Wife Injured in Domestic Incident

The dispute happened after she told him she wanted a divorce, according to police.

A Suwanee man is facing simple battery and other charges after a domestic incident in which his wife suffered injuries, according to Suwanee Police.

Morgan Yong Joon Kim of a Park Pass Lane address was charged with simple battery, false imprisonment and interfering with a 911 call after an incident on Tuesday (March 6) morning, according to police records.

Police responded after Yun's wife appeared at police dispatch, saying that she and her husband had had an altercation at their home. She told police that she had told her husband that she wanted a divorce.

She said he then became upset and held her by her wrists, threw her on the bed, and took her cell phone when she tried to call police. She added that he would not let her leave the house, and only relented when she said she would not go to police.

Police said she had a small bruise that started on her right wrist, as well as small scratches and abrasions.

She said her husband was unemployed, adding that he had had some jobs in the past but had quit them all. She said she had had enough.

When police interviewed the suspect, he said he held her because he thought she might hit him. Also, he said he took the phone so he could talk to her, and said he wanted to keep her in the house so he could talk to her.

The woman told police at the dispatch center that she would go to stay with a relative.
