A Gwinnett woman is facing a vehicular homicide charge in connection with a crash in Duluth that resulted in fatal injuries to her daughter.

According to Gwinnett County warrants, Hyunmi Lim of a Highland Bluff Drive address in Suwanee "made a left turn into the path" of another vehicle at an intersection on Boggs Road in Duluth in the evening of Oct. 10.

Her child Ohnew Lee was in the back seat of her car, and received serious injuries from the crash. The child died several days later from the injuries, the warrants said.

Lim was released on bond from the Gwinnett Detention Center for the second-degree charge of vehicular homicide. She also was charged with driving on an expired license, improper safety restraint for children, and failure to yield.

According to the warrant, the suspect had "improperly restrained the child in a booster seat" instead of the child safety seat required by law for the child's age, height and weight.

The child was secured with only a lap belt, the warrant said.

This information was obtained from the Gwinnett Sheriff's Department. It does not indicate a conviction. Questions should be directed to suwanee@patch.com.
