Two Injured in Suwanee Traffic Accident on Saturday

Driver runs red light at major intersection, Suwanee police said.

Two people were injured Saturday morning in a traffic collision at a major Suwanee intersection when a driver ran a red light, Suwanee police said.

Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services also responded to the 10:10 a.m. incident at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and McGinnis Ferry Road -- the city's most dangerous intersection. The injured were transported to Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Suwanee police Cpl. Fred Schumacher said.

The driver of a Chevrolet Blazer traveling west on McGinnis Ferry Road went through a red light and struck a GMC SUV that was traveling north on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, police said. The force of the collision sent the SUV into southbound PIB and the rear of the driver's side of a Charter Communications truck also at the intersection, police said at the scene.
