Officers: Suwanee Woman Presents Fake ID, Leaves Dog Unattended

The suspect earlier had been indicted for identity fraud.

A Suwanee woman who had been indicted for identity fraud in Gwinnett County also has been charged with presenting false identification to Gwinnett Sheriff's officers, records show.

Sylvia Elaine Mosley of a Chattahoochee Run Drive address was indicted for identity fraud earlier in 2013, according to a bench warrant.

On Aug. 27, when Gwinnett Sheriff's officers served the bench warrant for the indictment, they observed a woman inside the residence, according to the incident report. However, the woman failed to answer the door. After a few minutes, the woman came downstairs and asked who was at the door.

When officers told the woman who they were and who they were seeking, she responded, "She is not here right now."

After allowing the officers inside, the woman told them that her name was "Tyler Moses." Later, she presented officers a Medicaid ID card with no picture that had the name "Tamer Moses."

Officers told her that they needed a government ID with a picture. When asked for her driver's license, she told officers that she did not have one.

After opening his paperwork, an officer showed the woman a Department of Motor Vehicles photo. The woman later admitted that she was Sylvia Mosley.

According to the incident report, the suspect was uncooperative while officers were handcuffing her and leading her out of the residence. She asked more than once for her shoes and to call her lawyer.

Officers observed a dog in the residence. However, the suspect would not provide officers with a name or number for someone to call to take care of her dog.

This information was obtained from the Gwinnett Sheriff's Office. It does not indicate a conviction. Questions should be directed to suwanee@patch.com.
