April Brings Many Events to Suwanee

Little River Band concert among the activities coming soon.

With the arrival of spring, several events will be happening around Suwanee soon.

A by well-known hitmakers Little River Band will be on Saturday, April 16, at 7 p.m. at . The band, originally from Australia, had several hits in the 1970s and '80s, including "Lonesome Loser," "Cool Change" and "Reminiscing." This will be part of Atlanta's Greatest Hits Birthday Bash, in conjunction with radio station 106.7.

The same weekend will see other festivities around town. On April 15, Glow In The Gateway will feature eight hot-air balloons lighting up the evening sky, in the area near on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road. The next day, will begin at 7:30 a.m., again at Lowe's. This is part of the city's effort to drive business to businesses in that area.

Also, the on Stonecypher Road will come alive on April 16 with the sound of bluegrass music. The regular performances date back to the 1960s, but were dormant recently while the former Everett property underwent a change in ownership.

Then Toast @ Town Center will begin on April 28 at 6 p.m. This event will repeat monthly, and is hosted by businesses in the Town Center area.

On April 30, campers can enjoy the at Sims Lake Park. For $25, campers can pitch a tent at the 60-acre park.Β
