Cain To Appear With Gingrich in Suwanee on Saturday

The former candidate also will be on the scene at Collins Hill High.

Herman Cain, the Atlanta-based Republican who ended his presidential bid in December, will appear with Newt Gingrich at Gingrich's campaign appearance Saturday in Suwanee.

Cain threw his support behind Gingrich in January. The event will be at at 11:30 a.m. at Collins Hill High (50 Taylor Road, Suwanee.)

The event will be open to the public. "(Gingrich) is eager to see good conservatives in Gwinnett," said Susan Meyers, Gingrich's Southeast Communications Director. "Gwinnett is a strong base of support for his campaign."

To participate in the Republican precinct meeting Saturday, however, one must be a registered voter and get in line before 10 a.m., Meyers said.

Gingrich's appearance in his former home state comes as the March 6 primary is nearing, and 10 other states are scheduled to hold primary elections that day. Most major polls show Gingrich running behind Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum in the quest to oppose President Obama in November. A New York Times delegate count shows Gingrich in third place.
