Carter Relative Aided Romney Video Release

Dunwoody resident James Carter IV admits 'satisfaction' over the controversial development.

The grandson of former president and Georgia governor Jimmy Carter arranged for the release of the controversial video of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney, according to media reports.

WSB-TV and others have reported that James Carter IV of Dunwoody tracked down the person who did the hidden-camera video of Romney, then leaked it to the magazine Mother Jones.

-- Do you agree with the motive of Carter IV in releasing the Romney video? Tell us in the comments below.

The video has gone viral. It was secretly taped at a fundraiser in Florida. Romney told attendees that 47 percent of Americans “believe they are victims” and that the government should provide for them.

James Carter IV told WSB that Romney’s remarks fit the image that Democrats are trying to portray.

“One of them is he's this out of touch rich guy.  Another one he doesn't care about the middle class,” Carter said.

Carter IV said Jimmy Carter, a Democrat who was president from 1976-80 and governor from 1970-74, congratulated him on his involvement in the video’s release.

Carter IV, who is an unemployed opposition researcher, said he is getting job offers since the video's release.

The point of logic Romney was trying to make was like this: Let's say you pay 0% taxes. If I offer you a tax cut, will that appeal to you? Of course not. I must come up with something else to appeal to you for your vote. Romney recognizes this and sees it to be an exercise in futility as he wants to save the country from financial ruin and give all people an opportunity to be successful and prosper, not dependant on the government as is the Democrats' motives. Obama recognizes it and ties it to more spending to attract the votes of those who see they may get "their fair share", all of which will be paid by the "evil greedy rich," hence class warfare and falls right into Obama's plan or wealth redistribution. I understand that many of those 47% pay into Medicare and Social Security and are Republicans as well, so Romney's excerpt from that closed session is ill-timed for them but was held to be well timed for the Democrats. Do I agree with his motive? Ethically what he did was wrong but that is to be expected in the dirty world of politics especially when desperation drives them as is Obama's and his Kool-aid drinkers case. What about a plethora of motives including Carter IV is an unemployable in the real world and is a product of his upbringing and is exploiting this to get a job. It's no surprise that Jimmy Carter congratulated him being since he holds the distinction of being the worst POTUS ever...and the apples didn't fall far from that tree.

There was no point in the illogic of Romney. He said what he meant to say because that's how he thinks. Very scary stuff. And nobody, even a compassionate Democrat, is motivated to make people dependent on government. That is such a common Republican misrepresentation; merely another scare tactic. Maybe Romney should work in one of the Asian sweat shops he bought and sold for huge profits. Then he could see how hard others work while bunking with eleven others in a 10'X10' room. All for $1.37 an hour. Stay out of touch Mitt; it'll keep you out of office.

Nobody, even a compassionate Democrat, is motivated to make people dependent on government???? Really???? Nobody???? Doesn't nobody cover 100% of everybody??? The motivation to make people dependent is directly proportional to getting their votes...it began with placing Native Americans on Indian Reservations, and is a well practiced strategy almost perfected by Lyndon Johnson as a way to ensure those voters keep electing you.

It is quite evident this President and this administration will do anything to get him re-elected. This is the low in politics. Not only did they make a video at a private fund raiser but they took part of what Romney said out before making it public. I do not know what the exact percentage is of people in America on welfare; however, I do know it is very high. He will do anything to get votes ..... thus using any and everything he can find to use against anyone who stands up for themselves and stands against him!!!!

Jack Kababa, you are a JACKASS! Agnes Conartist, there is no evidence of any such thing. There is no way in any corner or anywhere else is it possible that President Carter could possibly be the worst president ever. There are too many former republican presidents holding that position.

Audan, I don't think I am a jackass....that symbolic equine has long been the symbol of Democrats. I am not an elephant (Republican) either....I don't let what my family tradtions, local influences or other traditions dictate who I believe to be doing or could be doing what is best for the country. There is plenty of evidence to back up arguments against your chosen one, but it is a tactic of liberal democrats maybe like yourself who can only resort to name calling because they have no logical substance to argue with. Shame on you for calling me such an ugly name.
