Job Fair for Veterans, Spouses on January 29 in Gwinnett

More than 40 employers are expected to participate in the 'Hiring Our Heroes' event in Duluth.

Chattahoochee American Legion Post 251 in Duluth will be the site of a “Hiring Our Heroes” job fair for military veterans and their spouses on Tuesday, January 29.

More than 40 employers, ranging from large corporations to small companies, are expected to participate, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Jobs will be available for veterans and military spouses of all ranks and levels of experience, according to a press release issued by the U.S. Chamber.

“Hiring Our Heroes” has sponsored more than 400 hiring job fairs nationwide since its launch in March 2012 and helped more than 14,000 veterans and their spouses find employment.

The Duluth event is part of “Hiring 500,000 Heroes,” a national initiative announced by the U.S. Chamber, National Chamber Foundation and Capital One to engage the business community with a goal of hiring a half million veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.

Interested job seekers can register for free at hoh.greatjob.net. Walk-ins are allowed. Veterans must provide military ID.

Other “Hiring for Heroes” partners include the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Services, the Georgia Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, the Employer Partnership of the Armed Forces, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and local chambers of commerce.

The Duluth American Legion Post is located at 2760 Ga. Hwy. 120.
