Gingrich To Be in Gwinnett on Super Tuesday

The former U.S. House speaker plans to be at the Gwinnett Chamber on March 6.

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has called Georgia important to his election success in 2012, and he's showing it again by returning to Gwinnett.

The former U.S. House Speaker from Georgia plans to be in Duluth on Super Tuesday (March 6) for a Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce event.

Gingrich appeared at Collins Hill High in Suwanee on Feb. 18, making a rousing speech before about 400 people. He was very critical of President Obama, calling him "the most dangerous president in modern American history."

Georgia is among 11 states that will hold primaries or caucuses on March 6, and with 73 delegates at stake, this state is the biggest prize that day.

Though polls show Gingrich leading in Georgia, he does not consider this state a given. "I need your help," he said in Suwanee. The uncertain nature of voters here was displayed during a -- Ron Paul outpolled Gingrich.

But the former West Georgia College professor and Emory University grad is clear about his conservative appeal. "There are large sections of Ohio and Illinois that are much more Southern than people think," he said after his speech.
