Gwinnett Event To Help Troubled Homeowners To Be on November 1

Gwinnett BOC Chairman Charlotte Nash is helping to lead an event Thursday (November 1) in Gwinnett for an organization that seeks to help some homeowners make mortgage payments.

HomeSafe Georgia will hold an event at Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center in Lawrenceville on Thursday, 10 a.m. According to a news release, it is the metro Atlanta kickoff and is geared for providing "temporary mortgage assistance for homeowners who are unemployed or underemployed through no fault of their own."

The goal is to help 18,000 families statewide, the news release said. Mike Beatty of the Georgia Department of Consumer Affairs is scheduled to attend, along with Nash.

According to its website, HomeSafe Georgia is an agency created through a partnership of the Georgia Department of Community Affairs and GHFA Affordale Housing, Inc.

It aims to provide "bridge" mortgage assistance to Georgians who have suffered a "hardship" in employment through no fault of their own.

The GJAC is at 75 Langley Drive, Lawrenceville, 30046. In the event of rain, this event will be held on the first floor of the west wing.
